About Davis Tate Goring-on-Thames

The villages of Goring and Streatley, on opposite sides of the river, lie in an area of outstanding natural beauty and offer many amenities as a residential, tourist and recreational centre. Goring currently holds the title "South of England Village of the Year". The Goring Gap is an interesting geological feature enabling the River Thames to break through the hills and make its way eastward to London and the sea. Here, the river runs from north to south, dividing the Berkshire Downs from the Chilterns. In addition to attractive riverside scenery, Goring-on-Thames is convenient for many places of interest, including Oxford and the Cotswolds, and London is less than an hour away by train. The Goring Gap is also at the junction of the Ridgeway and Thames long-distance Paths, and so is popular with walkers. Goring is served by a range of excellent shops, hotels, restaurants, pubs and a highly sought after primary school. Its mainline rail link enables local residents to work in London (56 minutes), Reading (15 minutes) or other towns and yet still enjoy the pleasures of living in the country. The village has a thriving local community with a wide range of clubs, societies and special interest groups - latest news and events are available on the village website at
