Transport

Henley-on-Thames is well connected via public transport. Train connections via Twyford take passengers to London Paddington, which is around a 40 minute journey, while connections to the M4 and M40 motorways ensure easy and convenient access for commuters.

For those who like to walk or cycle, the Thames Path is a popular and well-known local route.

Leisure

Green spaces and outdoor activities are abundant - Mill & Marsh Meadows is a large riverside park along the tow path, leading to the River and Rowing Museum which is best known for its Wind in the Willows and Regatta exhibits.

Henley residents can also take advantage of facilities at Gillotts Leisure centre (which has a pool, amongst other activities), Badgemore Park Gold Club and Henley Tennis Club.

The town’s cultural highlight of course is its pride and joy, the Henley Royal Regatta. The much beloved entry in the town’s social calendar attracts visitors from around the world. And as well as the museum, those curious about Henley’s rowing legacy can even hire boats or take a boat tour to experience it first-hand.

Henley also hosts various events throughout the year, including the Henley Festival, whose 2025 lineup is set to include Diana Ross, Rick Astley and McFly. Another well-liked annual event is the Henley Literary Festival, whose previous line ups have included Jacqueline Wilson, Jodi Picoult, Roddy Doyle and Susie Dent.
