HISTORY
Manor dairy is approximately 150 years old. It was originally part of a farm which served the nearby Victorian Tidmarsh Manor. Adjacent buildings were also part of the farm. Agriculture was its primary purpose and there are pictures of cows in it as late as 1940s. More recently it was used as a printing workshop and chicken hatchery. The front part was converted into residential accommodation during the 1960s and the rear the in 1980s.
LOCAL INFORMATION
Tidmarsh is about a mile from Pangbourne (trains to London Paddington and Elizabeth Line via Reading) and a few minutes’ drive from Junction 12 of the M4. With rolling Berkshire downland to the West and Sulham Woods to the East the village lies on the River Pang, a chalk river which flows into the Thames along which there are walks into Pangbourne. There is a Village Hall, Church and Village Green with a playground, a nature reserve and a dining pub, The Greyhound. Tidmarsh is also close to Theale with its schools and shops and there is a retail park with a Savacentre near J12. Theale also has a station for those needing train access to the West of England.
