If you have never sold a property before it can seem a little daunting to know what is likely to happen through the various stages of moving. Here’s a quick check list so you have an idea of what to expect.

How to sell your property

1. Book an appointment for a free property valuation

Ask Davis Tate to come and value your property. As well as valuing your home, we will explain the service we offer and outline our fees. Be sure to show your valuer all the things you love about your home, and discuss your needs and timescales. We will then help you every step of the way to get you the best possible price for your home and get you on the move.

2. Note down your selling costs

It’s a good idea to make a list of all the approximate expenditure involved during the selling process and via the conveyancer (solicitor) when your sale completes.  These will include:  the estate agent's selling fees, conveyancer's legal fees, removal costs, final utility bills and mail redirection. You need to budget carefully to avoid nasty surprises further down the line.

3. Get your home ready to show to potential buyers

Once you have instructed Davis Tate to sell your home, a brochure and internet marketing will be prepared by us for potential buyers – including those all-important pictures! To achieve the best possible proce its essential to show your home at its very best. Clear away clutter, finish any DIY jobs and give any rooms a fresh coat of paint. A good first impression for buyers counts.

4. Get your property online

Davis Tate are very active on the internet, utilising the major property portals like Rightmove and Zoopla, plus regularly maintaining social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter which can add a real buzz  and show case your property well to a  wide audience.
