Woodcote, situated three miles north east of Goring, and is a vibrant South Chiltern Village with a particularly strong sense of participation amongst its inhabitants. There are many clubs and activities, facilities and services, excellent education in the public and council sectors, three churches for Anglican, Methodist and Catholic denominations alike, and working groups of local people. The village itself lies some 170 metres above sea level at the south-western end of the Chiltern Hills, four miles from the point where the River Thames flows through the Goring Gap. There is excellent access to nearby Wallingford, which is a delightful market town some four miles to the West, with a good bus service, and train access to London (Paddington) and Oxford, with a choice of either Pangbourne or Goring Railway Stations. Woodcote is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by beechwoods and farmland that drops down towards the river valley. There is an active Conservation Group with an excellent website, which is frequently updated, and is recommended as a perfect introduction to newcomers to the area. The Conservation Group is involved in maintaining and protecting the characteristic features of this environment and promotes awareness and appreciation of local plants, creatures and habitats. . DIRECTIONS
From the Davis Tate Goring Office proceed left along the High Street. At the railway bridge turn right followed by first left onto the Reading road. Continue for approximately 2 miles, upon reaching the crossroads turn left signposted Woodcote. At the cross roads in the dip turn right into Shervells Hill. Follow this road around the bend, at the T-Junction turn left, followed by first right into Greenmore. Summit Close will be found after a short distance on the left hand side. The apartment is the first building on the right.
